Team Whimsey
Whimsey began as a mother-daughter creative team. Playing off of one another creatively for years led to original designs that became our signature. I am proud of this design legacy that continues on beyond the life of my mother.
Our greatest passion is the stones we work with, an appreciation passed from mother to daughter over a lifetime. We especially love the volcanic stones of Oregon - picturesque jaspers and colorful agates - but we love all interesting stones. I sometimes joke that they are like the children I never had. :) I treasure them, and love sending them out into the world to be treasured by others. We were fortunate to develop a relationship with our lapidary that allowed us into that creative process as well, and his advanced skill has been a big part of making Whimsey stand out from the crowd.
We "paint" with colorful beads and gemstones, bend & weave wire, shape and hammer silver, and find the balance in the beauty of asymmetry. We take great care in the making of our jewelry, and use only the highest quality sterling & fine silver wire, chain and findings. We never bargain shop for silver; we've been buying from the same supplier for many years because we trust their quality. We can confidently tell our customers that our silver contains no nickel, and that is important to many, including us.
