Caring for Your Jewelry
I use the best 925 sterling and 999 fine silver on the market. It is 100% nickel free. And yes, it will tarnish. It is a completely normal process of oxidation. There are some alternate forms of silver that don’t tarnish as rapidly, like argentium, but I prefer regular sterling silver, which has stood the test of time. So you’ll have to clean your fabulous jewelry at some point. Sorry. :(
Here are some care and cleaning tips to help:
The #1 biggie is prevention.
Store your jewelry in a closed box, away from air, light and humidity. This will slow the process down so you don’t have to clean as often. I give nice boxes with my necklaces and jewelers tissue that doesn’t cause tarnish. I’m trying to help you! Plastic baggies are ok too, for earrings, but I don’t recommend putting my necklaces in them because it can kink the wire the seed beads are on.
DO NOT STORE YOUR JEWELRY IN THE BATHROOM, ever. Humidity causes tarnish.
Even with the best care, you will have to clean your jewelry at some point.
